HIGH-VOLTAGE CERTIFIED

EV & Hybrid Repair Centre serving Harrow

Battery diagnostics, high-voltage repair and routine servicing for electric and hybrid vehicles โ€” carried out by a certified specialist, not a general mechanic learning as they go.

We treat your EV as if it's ours

No cut corners, no guesswork. Every job gets the same care whether it's a battery health check or a full HV repair.

HV-certified, not improvised

Fully certified for electric and hybrid high-voltage systems, with isolation procedures followed on every job.

Transparent, upfront pricing

You get a clear quote before any work starts โ€” no surprises on the invoice when you collect your car.

What we fix

Our main services

If it has a battery pack or an electric motor, it comes through our doors.

Battery Diagnostics

Cell health checks, degradation reporting and fault-finding for high-voltage battery packs.

HV System Repair

Inverters, motor units, charging circuits and high-voltage cabling, handled to full safety protocol.

Routine Servicing

Brakes, tyres, coolant and 12V systems โ€” the everyday maintenance an EV still needs.

Pre-Purchase Inspection

Buying a used EV or hybrid? A full health check on the battery and drivetrain before you commit.

Charging System Faults

Won't hold a charge, charges slowly, or won't charge at all โ€” we trace it back to the cause.

Warranty-Safe Repairs

Work carried out to manufacturer standard, so you're not putting an existing warranty at risk.

Know your car

400V vs 800V โ€” what's actually different

Newer EVs are moving to 800V architecture. Here's what that changes under the skin, and why it matters when something needs fixing.

400V SYSTEM
800V SYSTEM
CHARGING SPEED
Typical DC rapid charging up to roughly 50โ€“150kW
Supports 150โ€“350kW+, so a 10โ€“80% top-up can take around 15โ€“20 minutes on the right charger
CURRENT & CABLING
Higher current needed for the same power, so thicker, heavier cables
Doubling the voltage halves the current for the same power โ€” thinner, lighter cabling throughout the car
HEAT & EFFICIENCY
More resistive heat loss (IยฒR) at high current, more cooling needed
Lower current means less heat in cables and connectors, often lighter cooling hardware
POWER ELECTRONICS
Well-established silicon-based inverter designs
Typically uses silicon-carbide (SiC) switching components for the higher voltage
CHARGER COMPATIBILITY
Matches most of today's public rapid chargers directly
Some models add a booster/DC-DC converter to still rapid-charge on widely available 400V chargers
WORKSHOP HANDLING
Standard HV isolation procedure and PPE for the voltage class
Stricter isolation checks, higher-rated tools and insulation testing before any work begins

Both architectures rely on the same fundamentals โ€” a battery pack, an inverter, and a motor โ€” 800V just moves more energy through less current. Whichever one your car runs, it gets the same respect for high-voltage safety.

Under the bonnet

Inside the high-voltage system

A quick look at the parts we work on and how they fit together.

BMS COOLANT LOOP

Battery pack & BMS

Cell modules sit inside the pack, watched over by the Battery Management System โ€” balancing charge and shutting down safely if it detects a fault.

BATTERY DC INVERTER AC MOTOR WHEELS

Power flow to the wheels

The battery stores DC power. The inverter converts it to AC to drive the motor, which turns the wheels โ€” instantly, with no gearbox in most EVs.

MAINS AC ONBOARD CHARGER DC PACK DC FAST-CHARGE BYPASS

Charging path

AC charging passes through the onboard charger to become DC before reaching the battery. Rapid DC chargers skip that step and feed the pack directly.
